These are a series of short stories in Potawatomi and English which would be good to use with your kids. "I am Potawatomi" can help the children feel a connection to their tribe. Who doesn't like a story about Grandma visits? The other is about a snow day. The feather book helps explain to children the significance of the eagle and why it is an important bird to our people.
You can click on the link below to download them to your computer and then print them out to use with your own kids or grandkids. They are also a nice book for an adult beginner student. We will add audio clips in the future for those of you who would like to practice along with the audio or even play it for the kids. We plan to add several more stories as the year progresses, so check back often and let us know if you like the books. The books were originally a part of series done in the Dakota language and we were given permission to use them and put them into Potawatomi.
